This story also reminds me of the parable of the ten virgins our Lord Jesus Christ told in Matthew 25:1-3. How five of them were wise enough to know that even though they had their lamps burning with the light shining so brightly, darkness was always around the corner to swiftly overshadow one’s life once the lights were off; and so they had extra oil with them for their lamps. However, the other five were too foolish to understand this and thought “since we have light, darkness is already far away. There’s no need to keep watch.”

The Bible strictly tells us in Luke 11:35 saying “See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness”. We must always make sure that not for once does that light go out. It is not enough to have the light. There is always the task of keeping it shining all the time. we have heard this line in different songs “this little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine”.

That changing of figures in the account book might still entice you after you have become born again. The Tiwa Savage and Davido music might still be waiting for your vulnerable hours so as to replace the Don Moen’s music or combine with songs of light. And in no time, you may start saying “it does not matter; listening to Don Moen and Davido is not a sìn”.

A popular hymn tells us “Christian, seek not yet repose”. It means don’t relax because you have the light. Keep it on! Keep it burning! That is the only way darkness will run forever.
